Infant Education

The Preschool stage is the basis for all the educational stages at our international school. In this phase we lay the foundations for all learning. As an applicant centre for the International Baccalaureate Primary School (PYP) Programme, our goal is to teach students who, from an early age, are imaginative, curious, capable and active. That is why we work in indoor and outdoor environments, with an emphasis on play, exploration, active and creative learning and stimulating critical thinking. At this young age, the children are yet to “set” their systems: early stimulation helps their growth and favours the multiplication of brain cell connections. At Agora Lledó International School our very youngest pupils receive all the love, care and support of their educators and specialists who work to ensure that they are happy and have fun learning. We contribute to the development of all their intelligences through emotions.

First cycle (1-2 years old)

In this cycle, play takes the centre stage. Through play, the children receive a comprehensive programme of early stimulation which includes swimming, psychomotricity, English, Bits of Intelligence, music, mathematical games and art sessions… All of this is possible thanks to the high level of care offered by our staff, who ensure that all of the children’s basic needs are taken care of (food, hygiene, rest…), as well as their professional and personal interaction with both the pupils and their families.

Second Cycle (3-5 years old)

From the age of three we continue with the English-Spanish bilingual programme. Students have 50% of their classes in English (Phonics, Drama, Literacy, Science, Art, Information Technology, Sport and Early P.E.) and the other 50% in Spanish (Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Music and Swimming). In order to stimulate the students’ motor skills, they have Early P.E. classes and practice different sports (Judo, Football, Basketball), thus offering favourable development of the body scheme. They are also introduced to the world of music by specialist music teachers.

Teachers and families are supported by our Special Educational Needs (SEN) Department at all times.
